Dieter van der Eyken war einer der großen Überraschungen der Single Elimination beim PWA Freestyle auf Fuerteventura. Nach dem Einzug in die Halbfinals, fand der Belgier gestern allerdings nicht mehr zu 100% in den Rythmus und muss sich in der Single Elimination mit Platz 4 begnügen. Kein Grund enttäuscht zu sein.
Noch etwas besser lief es bei den Damen, wo Maaike Huvermann im Finale zwar erneut knapp gegen Sarah-Quita Offringa verlor, mit Oda Johanne aber eine weitere SEVERNE Fahrerin auf dem Podium steht.
„4th place in the single, a great result but felt like it had more in it… I got frustrated and made mistakes, I pushed as hard as I could but things just didn’t go my way and I couldn’t reach my level of yesterday.. I don’t spend much time on the freestyle gear anymore but when I do with everyone around I still love it!! I sail better than I did in the past and with these new Freeks a new window has opened!
